Northwestern Mutual to hold Bowling Bash for Junior Achievement

Northwestern Mutual’s Kentucky/Southern Indiana Group is putting its own spin on the traditional Junior Achievement (JA) bowl-a-thon.  Our Financial Representatives, backed by their leadership, and with support from the Sports and Social Club on 4th Street Live!, are hosting  a party for their friends at 5:30 on September 23, 2009.

The hosts are asking those who attend to join them in making a donation to JA.  The event will be less about knocking down pins and more about having fun and helping JA raise financial literacy in our community.  Strength and consistency will be the key to the light-hearted bowling competition.

Kentucky/Southern Indiana Group's Managing Partner and JA Trustee, Dan Rivers, has made JA a philanthropic priority for his organization. The financial representatives have embraced the opportunity.  Sarah Settle, the group’s designated JA Corporate Champion said, “Our representatives throughout our territory have enjoyed volunteering as instructors for JA.  The Bowling Bash is just another way for us to express our enthusiastic support.”

Northwestern Mutual Celebrates NeXt!

On July 3, the Kentucky/Southern Indiana Group hosted a party aboard the elegant yacht, the CQ Princess, to honor up and coming leaders in Louisville’s Arts community. NeXt! is a prestigious leadership development program sponsored by the Fund for the Arts for young professionals from some of Louisville’s most prominent businesses. Its goal is to prepare the next generation for volunteer leadership roles in the area of arts and cultural interests with a strategic focus on strong corporate citizenship.

Nearly 100 people enjoyed a 3 hour cruise down the Ohio River that included a stop near downtown Louisville to witness an incredible fireworks display launched from river barges. The honored guests were welcomed that evening by Kentucky/Southern Indiana Group's managing partner, Dan Rivers. Financial Representatives and NeXt! Alumni, Mark Kull and (outgoing NeXt! chair) Rob King shared with the crowd the impact NeXt! has had on their lives.
